One day after the Bel Air boys soccer team defeated Fallston in double overtime, the Bel Air girls ended the season of Fallston girls team, topping the Cougars on penalty kicks after the two squads played a 1-1 double-overtime tie, Friday afternoon at Fallston, in a 2A East Region semifinal.
Brooke Lorder provided Bel Air with a 1-0 first half lead, with an assist from Kathryn Merrick, but Fallston battled back to tie in the second half and it remained deadlocked through both overtimes.
The Bobcats prevailed in penalty kicks, 4-2, as Teresa Berg, Merrick, Jordan Layfield and Lorber all converted, advancing the Bobcats into next week’s 2A East championship game.
