Area dominate state football player rankings

Baltimore is again well represented on the state and national high school football recruiting sheets with the 2019 football season start to begin in five weeks.

St. Frances Academy, the area’s No. 1 team the past three seasons, has 11 players among Rivals.com’s Maryland Top 35, led by outside linebacker Chris Braswell.

Braswell, the state’s No. 2 recruit, is rated 14th overall nationally by 247Sports and 22nd by Rivals. Braswell is verbally committed to the University of Alabama.

The Panthers also have defensive back Jordan Toles (4th), defensive linemen Demon Clowney (5th), defensive back Luke Hill (7th), running back Blake Corum (No. 8) and linebacker Osman Savage (9th) in Rivals’ Top 10 Maryland performers. Toles, Clowney, Hill and Corum are also in 247Sports’ Maryland Top 10 along with defensive linemen Dominic Bailey.

Bailey, who transferred to St. Frances from Wicomico on the Eastern Shore, is committed to Tennessee.

McDonogh School linebacker Curtis Jacobs is listed fourth by 247Sports and 10th by Rivals. Jacobs is committed to Penn State.

River Hill’s defensive back Beau Brade is the area’s top public school prospect. The Maryland commit is 24th by 247Sports and 30th by Rivals.

Damascus defensive linemen Bryan Breese is the state’s No. 1 recruit. The Clemson commit is rated No. 2 nationally by 247Sports and 4th by Rivals.
