When looking at the Top 10 from last weekend’s MIAA Conference Tournament, three of the best 10 teams came from the “B” Conference, including bronze medalists St. Paul’s Crusaders, St. Vincent Pallotti and Annapolis Area Christian.

Coming just two wrestlers shy of claiming half the tournament’s weightclasses, the Crusaders led both the B Conference and the entire MIAA with the most tournament champions, crowning four before the end of the weekend.

Jack Mutchnik started the winning early for the Crusaders, scoring a 2-1 double overtime victory against Loyola’s David Mohler at 103, and was later joined by Eric Friedman (119), Peter Galli (140) and Brad Mutchnik (152).

Benefiting from two stalling calls in the second period, Jack was awarded another staling point in the second overtime period, allowing him to take the title at 103.

While they did not place any wrestlers in the tournament finals, the Annapolis Area Christian Eagles had four tournament place-winners, seeing sixth-place finishes by Danny Danckwerth (189) and Matt Linehan (119), a fifth-place finish by Dave Sandacz (130), and a fourth-place finish by Alpha Jalloh (171).
