Wildcats score in the final minute to edge top-ranked Blazers, 2-1
No. 1 Notre Dame Prep, in getting off to a 14-0 start to extend its area best field hockey win streak to 32 games, has made navigating the area’s toughest schedule seem effortless, with victories over numerous highly ranked foes, both in conference and out.
Friday night on the road in Anne Arundel County, however, the Blazers ran into a defense it could not solve as they fell, 2-1 to No. 9 Arundel.
Emma Jeffries got the game winner for the Wildcats, in the last minute, as she converted a feed from Lana Hamilton, to break a 1-1 tie. Jeffries also got credit for an assist on Arundel’s first goal, as her first half shot was deflected and then fired back by Kathleen Bevan.
Arundel is now 10-3, while NDP dropped to 14-1.
