When: Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Outlook: This is a battle of high flying offense vs. tough hard-nosed defense. No. 2 Arundel rolled up 52 points last weekend against Severna Park as the senior quarterback Nick Rosati threw for 214 yards and four touchdowns.

In two games, Rosati has completed 35 of 53 passes for 479 yards and seven touchdowns. His favorite target is Tyler Washington, who had six catches for 90 yards against Severna Park.

No. 5 Broadneck needed a 59-yard touchdown run from James Mullis to fend off Meade, 6-0, last weekend. The Bruins’ defense, led by standout linebacker Nick Ochoa, hasn’t allowed a score in their last seven quarters.

The Wildcats posted a 28-6 decision last season over Broadneck as Chris Cosh (Kansas State) passed for 233 yards and three touchdowns, and Joseph Blackwell rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown. Mullis had the lone score for Broadneck.

The matchup features longtime friends and former teammates in Arundel’s Chuck Markiewicz and Jeff Herrick of Broadneck. Markiewicz is the winningest coach (175-79) in Anne Arundel County history with Herrick second (159-74).
