Broadneck High’s Nick George and Liz Silbernagel of Fallston hope to take care some of unfinished business starting Monday at the state golf tournament at the University of Maryland.
Last year, Silbernagel and George were the area’s top girl and boy finisher (both third), respectively. Last month, George captured the Anne Arundel County boys’ crown at after finishing second the year before.
Thursday, Silbernagel bested the field at Geneva Farm to win the Harford County girls’ title. She secured her spot in the state tournament, placing first at the District VII qualifier at Ruggles GC in Aberdeen.
George and Silbernagel are among 77 golfers that will compete Monday and Tuesday in College Park. The Class 3A/4A schools play their opening round Monday, followed Tuesday with 1A/2A. The top scorers advance to Wednesday’s final round.
