Annapolis Area Christian School’s football team continued its early season offensive assault Friday evening, rolling up 52 points in a 52-14 decision over Southside Academy in a non-league contest at Meade.
Junior quarterback Chris Chick tossed three touchdown passes, and James Anderson and Chandler Edmonds each crossed the end zone twice as AACS improved to 2-0 on the young season. The Eagles have produced 113 points in their first two outings.
Mike Stelfox got AACS going immediately taking the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown. Anderson (86 yards) scored from three yards, extending the Eagles’ lead to 14-0.
A Chick 10-yard scoring throw to Edmonds sandwiched Southside’s scores, making it 20-14 in favor of the Eagles. From there, it was all AACS.
Chick found Jon Hunter for a 44-yard touchdown, sending the Eagles into the half with a 28-14 advantage. Anderson’s 28-yard scoring run and Chick’s third throwing score, a four-yarder to Edmonds made it 42-14 after three quarters.
A 26-yard field goal by Chris Wilkens and a Kyle Evans’ four-yard run in the fourth closed the scoring for AACS. Chick finished 8-of-11 for 84 yards with Hunter catching four of Chick’s throws for 69 yards.
The Eagles welcome Perryville in a non-league contest next weekend. Southside looks for its first victory of 2010, playing Carver in a Baltimore City Division I game Saturday.
