Jones drives in four runs for the Eagles
Annapolis Area Christian picked up its first baseball win of the 2022 season, holding off visiting Key, 9-7, on Friday at Kinder Farm Park.
The Eagles built a 6-1 lead after four innings and held off a late rally by the Obezags to even their record at 1-1.
Ryan Dickerson plated the Eagles first run in the bottom of the first with a bases loaded walk and Ryan Jones blast a bases load double to center, in the second to plate 3 runs and up the AACS lead to 4-0.
Jones went 2-for-4 with the double, a run scored and 4 RBI. Dickerson finished with 2 RBI and tossed 1.2 innings of relief to earn the save. Eagle starting pitcher Will Henderson went 5.1 innings, allowing 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5, to earn the win.
Sean Boomer went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base for Key (1-2). In addition, Will Dowton went 2-for-3, and Angus Lunt Woodward added 2 RBI.
