Owls win 20-0 in a contest halted early by the officials
In roughly played Baltimore County football rivalry game that was ultimately halted with more than six minutes remaining in the third quarter, because of a brawl between the teams, Dundalk captured 20-0 victory over visiting Patapsco, Friday.
The teams played a scoreless first quarter and it remained that way until just two minutes, 24 seconds remained in the first half. That’s when Dundalk’s Isaiah Antol scored on a 3-yard run to give the Owls (1-1) a 7-0 lead.
The Dundalk defense added a second first half touchdown, when Alex Hafner scooped a Patapsco fumble off the turf and returned it 50-yards for a score, with just 22 seconds left in the half.
With 6:53 left in the third quarter, Patapsco’s punter dropped a snap near his own end zone. He picked up the ball, but fumbled when hit and Dundalk recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchdown and a 20-0 lead.
That play led to some pushing and shoving and ultimately a brawl that forced the officials to call the contest.
The Patriots are also now 1-1.
