Panthers back on top after BCL tourney crown; state semifinalists Dunbar, Milford Mill and Old Mill move up

After winning its first Baltimore Catholic League Tournament championship since 2009, St. Frances Academy is No. 1 in the latest VSN Boys’ Basketball Top 20. It’s the second tour at No. 1 for the east Baltimore school, which will complete its season at the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament in Cumberland.
John Carroll School, last week’s No. 1, Mount St. Joseph, Boys’ Latin School and Poly make up the rest of the Top 5. The Engineers will try for a second straight Class 3A state title at the University of Maryland.
Dunbar (No. 6), Milford Mill Academy (7th), Old Mill (No. 8), Perry Hall (No. 12) and River Hill (13th) will look to capture a title on Gary Williams Court at the Xfinity Center.
The final poll will be released next week.
