No. 6 Seahawks drops Westminster in field hockey tourney final


Morgan Lee recorded a hat trick and Allison Corey added a goal and an assist as No. 6  South River High defeated Westminster, 6-1, in the final of the South River field hockey invitational Saturday afternoon in Anne Arundel County.

Alexis Seidel and Jacqueline Venable-Croft each tallied for the host Seahawks, who shutout Montgomery County’s Quince Orchard, 3-0, in the opening round. Darcy Clement scored twice and Corey finished with a goal and an assist.

McKenzie Jamison (three) and Paris Plummer (two) combined for five assists in the victory over Westminster. Ali Zimmerman had the only goal for the Owls, who routed John Carroll School, 9-1, in the opening round.
