Kenyon strikes out 11 as she no-hits the Scorpions; Hawks win in five, 27-0


The competitive portion of Monday’s Howard County softball opener between visiting River Hill and and host Oakland Mills was over before it got started, as the Hawks scored nine runs in the top of the first and 10 more in the second as the posted a 27-0 five inning victory over the Scorpions.

River Hill pitcher Jenna Kenyon struck out 11 and walked just two for her first high school no-hitter and she also led the Hawks at the plate going 3-for-3 with four RBI’s.

She had plenty offensive help.

Delanie Vintz went 2-for-2 with a triple and five RBI’s, Allie Wilson 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI’s, Ever Sheplee added double and two RBI’s, Crystal Lin was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI’s, and Annabel McCullough was 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI’s.
