No. 3 Dunbar tops NAF; West has double-double


Senior wing Da’Shawn Phillip had 27 points and nine rebounds, and Jamal West posted a double of 15 points and 11 rebounds as No. 3 Dunbar High defeated National Academy Foundation, 65-51, in a Baltimore City non-divisional boys’ basketball contest on Orleans Street Saturday.

After losing their first game of the season Friday, the Poets (19-1 overall) built a 34-17 halftime lead. Dunbar lost to No. 5 Poly, 65-61, Friday.

Kendall Colclough finished with 10 points for National Academy Foundation.

The Poets finish regular season next week against City College and Carver Vo-Tech. Saturday, Dunbar takes on Poly for the city league’s Division I title at Morgan State University.
