Violation end Falcons’ season; Reginald Lewis advances to 1A North final

Overlea High has forfeited its Class 1A North Region football victory after using an ineligible player.

The violation turns Overlea’s 28-12 victory Saturday over Reginald Lewis into a 2-o forfeit loss. Lewis (11-0) will play No. 8 Dunbar in the region title game at Mervo Friday evening.

Mike Sye, Supervisor of Athletics for Baltimore County, confirmed the forfeit Monday to the Baltimore Sun. Sye said Overlea “had to forfeit the game due to a player in violation of Baltimore County — not state of Maryland but Baltimore County — residency regulations.”

Sye said Overlea did not forfeit all its wins because the player was used only in the regional semifinal. Overlea finish the season 7-4.
