Severn’s girls soccer team played aggressively on offense and stout on defense in Tuesday afternoon’s 5-0 victory over visiting Annapolis Area Christian.

With the win, the Admirals (6-2 overall) remain in first place in the IAAM B Conference standings with a 4-0 mark. The Eagles (5-2-1) move to 1-1-1 in the league.

Captain Ruby Gilmore scored two goals, one in each half, to power Severn’s effort. Kelly Reese, Delia Repasky and Morgan Kontor all notched a score for the Admirals.

Severn outshot the Eagles, 26-5, in the contest. Annapolis Area Christian goalie Val Kilby finished the game with 16 saves, keeping the Eagles close for the majority of the game.

Severn will play host to No. 3 Archbishop Spalding on Friday in a non-league contest.

Annapolis Area Christian returns to action on Saturday with a league contest against Catholic.
