No. 17 Eagles top Gilman in MIAA A hoops


De’Von Brown and Noah Locke each finished with 16 points, and Drew Greene added 14 as No. 17 McDonogh School defeated Gilman School, 65-57, in a MIAA A Conference non-divisional basketball contest Friday evening in Owings Mills.

Trailing 30-27 at halftime, the Eagles (9-4 overall) outscored their Roland Park rivals, 39-27, in the second half, to win for the 8th time in their last nine decisions. Jalen Rucker led all scorers with 20 points for Gilman and Cieran Sandy had 19.

Gilman (4-10), which has dropped eight of nine, hosts Mount Carmel in a MIAA A contest Wednesday. McDonogh takes on Prince George’s County’s Capital Christian Academy at the Baltimore Hoops Festival at St. Frances Academy Saturday at 6 p.m.
