Shaw scores 21 as the Dons win on the road at St. Mary’s


Nine players scored for Loyola Blakefield, Tuesday evening, as the Dons built a big early lead and improved to 2-0 on the basketball court, with a 79-58 MIAA non-league road win in Annapolis over host St. Mary’s.

Loyola senior Cameron Shaw led all scorers with 21 points, while junior Dubem Nnake added 13 points and sophomore Mitch Fischer chipped in with 11 points.

Loyola led by 9 after the first quarter and then took a 40-23 lead into halftime. The Dons connected on 11 three pointers in the game.

In its season opener St. Mary’s had three players score in double figures led by 16 from Ryan Gardner. Jack Burnett added 14 for the Saints and Brandon Novak-Hannie added 10.
