Touchdown on first play sparks a 21-0 win over Wilde Lake


KaDarrian Booker raced 94-yards with the first snap from scrimmage, Friday night, scoring a touchdown and propelling 10th-ranked Long Reach to a 21-0 Howard County football victory over host Wilde Lake, in Columbia.

It was the start of a huge night for Booker, who rushed for 203 yards and added a 4-yard touchdown run, in the second quarter, as the Lightning improved to 3-0 in 2017. Long Reach also scored on a TD pass from quarterback Tyler Moore to Tre’Von Morgan in the third quarter.

Wilde Lake (1-2) played the game with heavy hearts after news broke on Thursday that the body of Laura Wallen, a popular Wilde Lake teacher was had gone missing last week, was found, confirming her death.
