VSN 2016 Girls Soccer Player of the Year will train in August at Real Madrid, A.F.C. Ajax and Olympique Lyonnais
Julie LynchJulie Lynch, who was named Varsity Sports Network’s 2016 Girls Soccer Player of the Year as a sophomore at Sparrows Point, is one of 32 players selected for generation adidas international Olympique Lyonnais Select Program.

Lynch, who plays for the Bethesda Soccer Club, will train this August at Real Madrid Foundation in Spain, A.F.C. Ajax in the Netherlands and Olympique Lyonnais in France, three of the world’s most powerful soccer clubs.

Just 15 years old, Lynch already has a wealth of experience, including a pair of 1A state championships, Region 1 ODP and time at the US Soccer training center combine. In addition, she has already made a verbal commitment to play her college soccer at West Virginia University.

“I believe this program will make me a better player and teammate,” said Lynch. “Watching and training in such a professional environment will be priceless.”

During the tour, Lynch will train under Olympique Lyonnais Academy coaches, play in international friendly matches against Academy teams and receive individual evaluation and instruction. This is a rare opportunity presented to very few American players.
