No. 12 Cougars handle Patterson Mill in 2A/1A North boys' lax final; Claffee scores five goals


Ben Claffee had five goals and an assist and Dylan Wolf finished with a hat trick and two assists as No. 12 Fallston High defeated Patterson Mill, 16-7, in the Class 2A/1A North Region boys' lacrosse title game in Harford County Wednesday.

The defending state champ Cougars (14-3 overall) will play either Southern or Queen Anne's in a state semifinal Friday or Saturday at Northeast. Queen Anne's and Southern will decide the East Region championship Thursday afternoon.

Fallston, which has won four of the last five 2A/1A state titles, led 9-0 at halftime Wednesday as Jeff Otenasek, Colton Presley and freshman Matt White each finished with two goals. Brendan Bandy scored three times for Patterson Mill (11-7), and Nick Repke scored twice.
