Dundalk rallies for softball victory over Pikesville; Adams has game-winner

Junior Heather Adams' bases loaded single in the bottom of the eighth lifted Dundalk High to a 19-18 victory over Pikesville in a Baltimore County Division II softball contest Wednesday.

Trailing 17-14, I'Jaiyon Wooden led off the seventh with her second homerun of the game. The Owls (8-1 overall and Division II) got back-to-back triples from Adams and sophomore Alexcia Fouts and both scored to tie the game.

Pikesville (7-2, 7-2 Division II) got a run in the top of th eighth to regain the lead, but senior Gabrielle Peterson tied it with a RBI single in the Owls' final at-bat. A walk and an error loaded the bases, and Adams sliced a 2-2 offering past the shortstop to win it. 

Adams finished 4-for-6 with four RBI and Wooden also went 4-for-6 with two homers and three RBI. Peterson drove in two runs. 

Dundalk plays at Woodlawn Thursday.
