Henry and Hall record hat tricks as Bel Air tops No. 20 John Carroll in girls' lax
Maggi Hall had three goals and two assists, and Julia Henry added three goals and an assist as No. 16 Bel Air High defeated 20th-ranked John Carroll School, 12-9, in a non-league girls' lacrosse contest in Harford County Thursday.
Hall scored twice and Henry tallied as the Bobcats (5-0 overall) broke away from a 9-9 tie in the final five minutes over their neighborhood rivals. Anna Farley and Caroline Fallace each scored twice for Bel Air, which had a 7-3 advantage early in the second half.
Abby Holmes had a game-high four goals for John Carroll (3-6), which ran off four unanswered goals to pull even at 7 with 13 minutes left in regulation. Henry and Asher regained the lead for Bel Air at 9-7 with 10 minutes before dominating the five minutes.
Elizabeth Hillman and Grace Wheland combined for nine draw controls. The Bobcats play at the Fight for Five Tournament Saturday at Blandair Park in Columbia.
