Dunn leads the Dons to a 10-6 victory
Ryan DunnFifth-ranked Loyola Blakefield hosted St. John’s (DC) in an Easter Week boys’ lacrosse matinee, Thursday afternoon, and a quick start by the host Dons carried them to a 10-6 non-league victory.

It was a much need victory for the Dons who had started the 2017 season at 1-4 against a who’s who schedule of PA and DC powers, with Loyola’s four losses coming by combined total of eight goals.

Loyola shutout the Cadets in the opening half as it built a 4-0 lead and the four goals held up as the margin of victory. Ryan Dunn led the way with four points, scoring two goals with two assists.

Connor Hume and Rory Batemen also scored twice for the Dons and Liam Bateman had a goal and an assist. Loyola’s remaining goals were scored by Gavin Dambeck, Patrick Lewis and Alex Reid. Hume, Koby Smith and Colin Clothier also had assists.

Loyola’s lead grew to 8-3 after three quarters. Jake Stout, who pitched that first half shutout, had 10 saves for Loyola.
