Nationally-ranked Malvern Prep hand No. 8 Greyhounds third straight loss; Bird and Hudson scores twice

Junior midfielder Quinn McCahon had four goals and an assist and Scott White added three goals and an assist as Malvern Prep defeated No. 8 Gilman School, 16-7, in a non-league boys' lacrosse contest outside of Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.

Mike Fay finished with a hat trick for Malvern (6-2 overall), ranked No. 19 nationally by USA Today and Inside Lacrosse. Seamus Glynn and Jimmy Gabrielson each had a goal and an assist.

Senior attack Austin Hudson had two goals and an assist for Gilman (2-3), which dropped its third straight game, and Dylan Bird tallied twice. The Greyhounds have back-to-back non-league games, Tuesday at defending MIAA B Conference champ and No. 15 John Carroll School and Wednesday at defending Baltimore County champ and 12th-ranked Hereford, before starting MIAA A play against Calvert Hall College Apr. 18.
