Hudson nets five as Greyhounds double-up Norfolk Academy at Hopkins
The Gilman lacrosse team had to wait on extra day for their 2017 lacrosse opener when wet conditions forced a postponement of their home contest schedule for Friday at Gilman.

Instead the contest was shifted to Saturday and played John’s Hopkins Homewood Field where the Greyhounds claimed a 12-6 victory to get their season off to an excellent start.

Gilman led just 4-3 at the half, but outscored Norfolk 6-0 in the third quarter to break the game open.

Austin Hudson had a big opener for the Greyhounds, scoring five goals. Wad Oursler added two goals and two assists and Jordan Yaffe had a goal and an assist.

Woody Kelly, Piper Bond, Jonathan Hazlehurst and Will Godine also scored one goal each, while Dylan Bird and Liam Muhly had assists.

In addition, Muhly and Jake Brummett combined to win 12-of-19 face-offs for Gilman.
