Bel Air seeks to continue reign in 4A

Several key pieces return from the Bobcats' 4A state championship team; Team Preview
John Swanson’s next win as a head coach will be the 200th of his career, but his last one is the one he may most remember.

Swanson and his Bel Air Bobcats capped the 2016 season with a victory in the 4A state championship game, ultimately earning Swanson honors as the Varsity Sports Network Coach of the Year.

“As we look forward to the 2017 season, we will be a quick team with athleticism and pitching,” said Swanson.  “We have seasoned returners.”

Senior captain Mike Yetter (P/SS) is back. He closed out the 4A state championship game against Quince Orchard and threw a no hitter against Parkville. Another returning senior captain is Zack Radcliffe (LF/P), who hit .500 on the year and tossed a no-hitter in during the regional playoffs.

The Bobcats will also be looking for junior captain Drew Gagnon (1B/P/3B/OF), Liam Bowers (CF) and  Cam Kalandros (P/3B) to also continue to contribute as impact players.
