Mindy Jones takes over Saints coach
St. Mary’s returns seven starters from a girls’ lacrosse team that had a strong 2016 campaign, going 14-5 overall and finishing tied for third in the IAAM A Conference.

Mindy Jones, a former captain with Saints on a team that won an IAAM title in 2005, is the team’s new head coach. She went on to play at the University of Maryland. Previously, she spent one season as an assistant coach at St. Mary’s before moving to Sand Diego to help develop club lacrosse teams in that area.

Four of the returning starters on defense, making that unit a strength.

The Saints’ top returning player is senior Shelby Harrison, who was named a preseason 1st-Team selection by USA Today and she was named 1st-Team All-Anne Arundel County in 2016.

Also back is Under Armour Underclassmen All-American Bryce Pfundstein. Other key players are senior Gabby Biondi, senior Tilly Adams and sophomore Whitney Albert.
