Sailors success will hinge on young pitching
Mount de Sales has made four consecutive appearances in the IAAM A Conference softball final with its only title during that span coming in 2013. With six starters back, the Sailors could make another run at the championship game if it can develop the necessary pitching.

“If pitching comes through we should do well,” said coach Pete Waskiewicz, now in his 23rd year with the Sailors. “We have 3 sophomores competing for the position.”

The Sailors top-returning player is senior centerfielder Taylor Forgen, a 4-year starter who batted .475 last year. Forgen is a two-time All-IAAM selection.

Also back is junior shortstop Carlie Stocksdale, a three-year starter who batted .410 last spring, and sophomore first baseman Olivia Donaldson, a two-year starter who led the team in home runs and RBI last year while batting .395.

Head Coach:
Pete Waskiewicz (23rd year)

Players to Watch:
Taylor Forgen, Sr. CF (4-year starter, 2x All-IAAM, 2nd-Team All-Met in 2015)
Carlie Stocksdale, Jr., SS(3-year starter, All-IAAM)
