No. 4 Poly upends Dunbar in city boys' hoops final rematch; Perry scores 15

Senior forward De'Vondre Perry scored 15 points and Demetrius Mims and Deshaun Mosley each finished with 11 as fourth-ranked Poly defeated No. 13 Dunbar, 63-50, in a Baltimore City Division I boys' basketball contest Friday on Cold Spring Lane.

Tied at 13 after one period, the defending city champ Engineers (15-6 overall, 8-0 Division I outscored Dunbar, 37-22, over the second and third quarters to extend their winning streak to seven. Poly has won 21 straight decisions in Division I play, dating back to last season.

Sophomore forward Tynu Chenery had a game-high 19 points for Dunbar (14-5, 4-4 Division I), which received 10 points from Dashawn Phillips. The Poets, who reached the city final last season, have dropped five of six after starting 13-0.

Poly is back in action Saturday evening against St. Vincent Pallotti at the Public vs. Private Showcase at Baltimore City Community College.
