Oppenheim picks up his 100th career coaching win as the Owls rout No. 16 Millers
Undefeated in league play and a spot in the Baltimore County championship game, No. 16 Milford Mill Academy headed into Friday evening’s Senior Night festivities looking to celebrate with a victory over Dundalk. The visiting Owls had other plans.

The surging Owls handed the Millers their first loss in Baltimore County Division I play and broke Milford Mill's 11-game winning streak with a 62-42 boys’ basketball road victory.

In its first loss of the 2017 calendar year, Milford Mill (14-5 overall, 10-1 Division I) had trouble generating offense, with point guard Jeremiah Simmons being the only player able to reach double figures with 10 points.

The youthful Owls were led by a sophomore dominated lineup as they won for 15th time this season.  Senior Nick Parrish scored 22 points, while sophomore Taquan Busby scored 14 and sophomore Rayonte Brown blocked six shots.

In addition, Jawauan Graham scored 12 for the Owls who look to clinch a No. 1 seed for the 3A North playoffs, on Monday, when they host Oakland Mills. Dundalk is 15-3 in 3A North games.

In winning 12 of its last 14 games, Dundalk has held their opponent under 50 points in those 12 wins and in 14 of its 15 wins this season.

This victory was the first win by a Dundalk basketball team over Milford Mill and it was the 100th career victory for coach Steve Oppenheim, now in his seventh season with the Owls.

“The 100 victory plateau is a team accomplishment,” said Oppenheim. “The hard work by all of the coaches, along with good basketball players, has allowed us to gain the success we have had in recent years. It is not a one coach or one team achievement.  It is the hard work and dedication of Coach Anderson, Peck, Majors, and Watkins in preparing Dundalk student-athletes for success on the basketball court and in the classroom."
