No. 10 John Carroll drops 8th-ranked Boys’ Latin at the buzzer, 62-59
In a fashion similar to his buzzer-beating shot that lifted John Carroll over Mount St. Joseph in last year’s Baltimore Catholic League Tournament championship game, JC junior star Immanuel Quickley beat the horn, Wednesday, with a long three to give the Patriots a 62-59 MIAA A Conference basketball victory on the road at No. 8 Boys’ Latin.

Quickley scored 19 points in the game, while fellow junior Montez Mathis added 21. In addition, the 10th-ranked Patriots got 14 points from sophomore Nigel Haughton and Qadir Ismail had three points and 11 rebounds.

With the victory, John Carroll (18-10 overall) improved to 9-5 in the A Conference where it sits in second-place in the Black Division. Boys’ Latin (17-10 overall, 7-7 MIAA A) remains in fourth and both teams have clinched a spot in the post-season.
