MIAA Wrestling Tournament seeds announced

Wrestling action gets underway on Friday afternoon at Mount St. Joseph


The 2017 MIAA Wrestling Tournament gets underway on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with first-round action on four mats at the Smith Center on the campus of Mount St. Joseph High School.

Friday's competition will also include Quarterfinal matches, as well as 1st Round Consolation and Quarterfinal Consolation matches. Wrestling will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with Championship Semifinals. Consolation matches will continue throughout the morning, followed by the Championship Finals at 1:00 p.m.

In addition to individual titles, the teams will be battling for the Lehigh Cup, awarded to the team champion. The Edward T. Russell Trophy will also be awarded to the wrestler who earns the most team points, while the Charles R. Gamper Outstand Wrestler Trophy will also be awarded. In addition, one team will be awarded the William P. Pheil Award for team sportsmanship.
