Earl Penn’s double-double leads Panthers to BCL victory over Goretti
Earl PennHandicapping the St. Frances Academy basketball team has been a difficult task this season. The talented but inconsistent Panthers have swung from highs to lows and back up again.

Monday was definitely a night on the rise as St. Frances traveled to Hagerstown and knocked off St. Maria Goretti, 60-57, in a Baltimore Catholic League Game.

Earl Penn lead the way for the Panthers (12-15 overall, 4-8 BCL), with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Elijah Epps scored 14 points, including the game-winning basket.

The result was more consequential for Goretti (21-6 overall, 9-3 BCL) as the Gaels fell back in their quest to top Mount St. Joseph (12-2) for the league’s regular season crown. St. Joe, which split its regular season meetings with Goretti, now has the edge with a one game advantage in the loss column.

Adrian Baldwin also had a big game for the Panthers, scoring 13 points and added eight 8assists, while Seth Jones also score 13 points.
