AACS survives a scare from Chapelgate

Eagles rally in the final minute, 68-65
Two teams on opposite ends of the MIAA B Conference Black Division standings met in Annapolis, Friday night, and first-place Annapolis Area Christian had fits with Chapelgate Christian before ultimately prevailing, 68-65.

Chapelgate (10-16 overall, 3-7 MIAA B) held a two-point lead at the half and also led with 54 seconds to play before a pair of turnovers paved the way for AACS to prevail.

AACS (15-7 overall, 8-2 MIAA B) had an extremely balanced attack with Kori Rawlings scoring 14 points, while Brandon Joseph and Jordan Johnson scored 13 points each. In addition, Cam Williams scored 11 points for the Eagles.

Chapelgate’s Cliff McEachin scored a game-high 18 points and Jason Murphy had 16 points, as well as eight rebounds and one block. In addition the Yellow Jackets got 10 points from Jalen Morant and nine points and 10 rebounds from Odell Dickerson.
