Bobcats win with two second half goals; teams honor local youth players on field

On a night when the girls soccer teams from Harford Tech and Bel Air high schools competed on the field, the teams also honored their local community on Community Night in Bel Air.

Bel Air, spared by a pair of goals from senior Lexi Kraemer, captured a 3-1 victory. Tied 1-1 at the half, the Bobcats got scores from Kraemer and Autumn Dougherty to salt away the victory. Kraemer had given Bel Air a 1-0 lead in the first half, but Raegan Salamone got things even for the Cobras before the half.

Maddie Re assisted on Salamone’s goal, while Grace Wehland and Sara Tivvis each had a helper for Bel Air. Jordan Althoff had 12 saves in the Hartford Tech goal and Jill Kozak made four stops for the Bobcats.

Harford Tech coach Matt Berg and Bel Air coach Josh Ruggiero coordinated the community event in which 85 youth soccer players from the area were welcomed onto the field for introductions.
