Hannah Tavik (pictured left) went 2 for 3 including a three-run homer and pitched a three-hitter, leading No. 7 Seton Keough to a 6-0 victory over Archbishop Spalding in an IAAM A Conference softball contest in southwest Baltimore Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore shortstop Amber Cosgrove and leftfielder Kelly Lynch each had two hits and an RBI for the defending league Gators (13-2 overall, 11-1 IAAM A), who won their ninth straight decision. Seton Keough trails Mount de Sales (12-1 IAAM A) Academy by one-half game for first.

The Gators got a 2-0 lead in the opening inning Wednesday as Cosgrove singled home Tavik and Lynch brought in senior catcher Mikki Kouneski with a single. Seton Keough got another run in the third as Cosgrove scored on a passed ball.

Hailee Clampitt opened the Gators’ fourth with a single, then advanced to third after a single from Morgan Scardina. Tavik sent an offering from Spalding starter Bailey Rouk over the centerfield fence.

Tavik, a senior, struck out eight and walked one. The Gators have beaten Spalding (7-7, 7-5 IAAM A) five straight times (including last spring’s finals) since losing to the Severn school in the 2011 title match.
