Quakers scores a 4-1 MIAA B Conference victory

Friends opened the scoring 18 minutes in after good work from the wing by Steven Bogusky, who crossed it to the far post for Mike Klausner, who needed two attempts to find the back of the net from close range.

Boys Latin replied three minutes later when Logan Thomas hit a long ball which split the back-line and was slotted home, from 15 yards out, by Sam Grace.

Friends regained the lead when freshman Ned Forbush played a nice ball across the box, which first fell to Alex Shine, but was saved to Paul Benzer, who put in the rebound to make it 2-1 before the half.

In the second half, Friends dominated. The Quakers extended their lead after a scramble in the box and the ball popped out to Owen McManus, who shot on goal and Paul Benzer deflected it in for a 3-1 lead. To finish, freshman Ned Forbush closed down the BL goalkeeper and managed to steal the ball from him, dribbled to goal and iced the 4-1 win for the Quakers.

Friends is now 2-0 in the MIAA B Conference. The Quakers will take on new league rival Concordia Prep away, on Friday.
