Playing without several starters for much of the year, Calvert Hall College got a couple of key pieces back into its lineup, Monday night, and both played pivotal roles in the Cardinals’ 66-49 MIAA A Conference basketball victory over visiting Gilman School.

Senior point guard D’Yante Dougherty, playing just his second game this season, contributed nine points and eight assists, with several of his helpers going to junior star Brendan Adams, who led the Cardinals with 27 points.

Freshman big man Justin Lewis also returned to the lineup, scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds. In addition, Logan Curtis scored 12 points for the Cards.

Calvert Hall (10-12 overall) is now 6-6 in the A Conference and in third place in the Red Division.

Donald Duncan and Jalen Rucker combined for 27 points to lead Gilman (7-14 overall, 1-10 MIAA A).
