Perry Hall edges Meade in an overtime battle of 4A basketball powers After four weeks of action, six teams are tied for first place in the Archbishop Curley fall basketball league, including defending 4A state champion Perry Hall, which battled to a 61-57 overtime win over fellow 4A boys basketball power Meade. Here is a complete recap of each game, as weel this coming week’s schedule and the standings. Perry Hall 61, Meade 57 (OT) Fresh off the news of his commitment to Ole’ Miss Senior forward Anthony Higgs wasted no time letting everyone know why the Rebels courted him for his services. He opened the game with 10 straight points in the first quarter. He would go on to tally 22 for the game including two more rim rattling dunks. One of those came on alley-oop pass in transition from La’Quill Hardnett. The 6’8” senior continues to combine guard and forward skills along with strong second half play to keep his Gators in the win column. He would turn in 19 of his game high 26 after the break. Meade competed with the Gators the entire way displaying great energy and effort. Esmand Williams would trade buckets with Higgs in the opening frame, scoring 9 points.
