Admiral alum will become the new athletic director at Calverton School

Severn boys lacrosse coach Jamie McNealey has announced his departure from that position at his alma mater to become the next athletic director at Calverton School in Calvert County.

McNealy spent just two seasons at the Admirals’ helm in what was his second stint with the program, leading the team to a 28-15 record over the last two years, including an appearance in the 2016 post-season where the team reached the MIAA A Conference semifinals. Previously, he coached the team from 199 to 2003.

A 1987 graduate from Severn, McNealy went on to play at Johns Hopkins University and played in the 1989 NCAA National Championship Game. He was inducted in Severn’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006. He has also served as president of the National College Lacrosse League, where he oversaw a program that included nearly 150 college club programs in 15 states. In addition, he worked as the defensive coordinator of the Chesapeake Bayhawks in 2010 when the team captured the Major League Lacrosse championship. In the past he also coached boys soccer at St. Mary’s.
